Mocha Uson confirms plan to run for upcoming midterm elections

Former Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) assistant secretary Mocha Uson on Monday confirmed that she would be vying for an elective post in the upcoming midterm elections.

This announcement was followed after she was allegedly fired by President Rodrigo Duterte from her government position. However, as per previous reports, she resigned as a sacrifice to pave the way for the approval of the Presidential Communications Operations Office budget.

According to from Philippine Star, the deliberation of the agency’s budget approval has been delayed because of her failure to attend budget hearings, wherein offices and agencies heads are often required to state their accomplishments in the previous years.

“Oo, tatakbo na ako. Kasi kung ako ngang ganitong klaseng tao ay sinisiraan ng ganyan, paano na ‘yung mga walang boses. Kaya dapat magkaroon ng boses ang ordinaryong Pilipino. (Because if somebody like me is being smeared that way, what more those who doesn’t have a voice. That’s why ordinary Filipinos should have a voice.)”

When asked whether she would run for the Senate or the House, the former Malacanang official said that she doesn’t know yet but will surely run for an elective post this upcoming midterm elections.

She also relayed that she will also ask and consult the president regarding her plan.

“Wala, hindi ko pa po alam e. Pero sure na po. Hindi ko pa po talaga alam basta sure na tatakbo po tayo kasi nakakapikon na e. Kailangan kong ipaglaban ‘yung mga ordinaryong tao.” (No, I still don’t know yet but it’s sure already. I still don’t really know yet but we are sure that we are running because it’s exasperating already. I need to fight for ordinary people).”

Mocha Uson Not Fired?
