The AlDub Nation has been on fire since the steady rise of Maine Mendoza and Alden Richard’s love team. However, another new issue has been tied to this powerful league of supporters – the “starlet” controversy involving the newly minted Kapuso, Jasmine Curtis-Smith.
Before things blow out of proportion, Rams David, the Dubsmash Queen’s manager, took it upon himself to speak up for his talent, as well as her fans.
Through an exclusive interview with Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP), David expressed his doubts that it was the AlDub fans who started the ‘starlet’ issue against Jasmine. Moreover, he said that Maine’s camp has no problem with Anne Curtis’ sister joining GMA Network, especially that they had already collaborated in “Imagine You and Me” in the past.

Contrary to the perception of the vocal AlDub supporters, the talent manager believes that Maine and Alden’s fan are actually kind and respectful – if only the media would get to know them better.
“Magagalang, mababait ang mga fans ni Maine and some are Aldub, wala akong nakitang negativeness, it’s all positive.
What’s more, David said that he doesn’t believe in the concept of ‘starlet’ and would rather call celebrities star. Nevertheless, he was sorry to say to Jasmine that bashing and criticism are perpetual parts of the showbiz life.
To end the interview, Maine’s handler addressed the hardcore fans who tainted his talent’s image rather than give her support.
Sino negative? Si Maine. E, ayaw natin yun. ‘Tapos magagalit tayo kapag may naisulat. If we show positive, naku sigurado ‘yan, magiging maganda. 100% positive.”
