Coleen Garcia’s mom Maripaz Magsaysay considers Billy Crawford her son already

Maripaz Magsaysay was all smiles during the ‘Despedida de Soltera’ of her soon-to-be-married daughter, Coleen Garcia. Based from her ecstatic facial expressions during the event last April 14, nobody would have thought that the Coleen Garcia’s mom had qualms about her daughter’s upcoming marriage in the past.

Speaking with Philippine Ultimate Showbiz Hub, the bride’s mother explained that even though they were good terms, she was not so keen on having Billy Crawford as her son-in-law at first. However, afraid to hurt her daughter’s feelings, she kept mum of her initial impression:

“I didn’t approve since the beginning eh pero I’m the type na I keep it to myself lang. Parang ako, I’m just here to support. Pero nandiyan na eh so I’ll support.”

Like any worried parent, Maripaz simply didn’t want her daughter to get hurt. What prompted the worried mother to have a change of heart? After a while, she got to know the man that her daughter was exclusively dating.

Soon enough, Coleen Garcia’s mom started to saw the “It’s Showtime” host for who he truly was: a nice, honest, and kind-hearted person:

“Billy is such a nice guy. Kung may mali siya he’ll correct it and make up for it. Malambing and sobrang makatao siya.”

Now that the big day is just around the corner, what does the bride’s mother have to say about their married life? In any marriage, in laws advised are highly valued, especially for newly-married couples that’s why Maripaz Magsaysay was more than happy to give hers.

Being a married woman herself, she knows that married couples go through a lot of hardships in their relationship. However, they can establish peace and harmony by taking these words into heart:

“Actually the only ingredient is love and God. Kasi yung mag-fo-fall out of love ka it’s normal, it’s part of it. Pag gising mo ng umaga parang ayaw mo ng kasama yung taong yun, lahat pagdadaanan nila. Pero sa akin, if you put God in the center of the marriage, your relationship will never go wrong. Kasi pag galit ka you pray, isip. That’s what I always tell them.”

Maripaz Magsaysay also stressed the importance of giving your partner space whenever arguments arise.
