Filipinos are known to be beauty pageant enthusiasts. Last month, six gorgeous ladies were crowned to be the representatives of the Philippines on the upcoming international beauty pageants that will consecutively happen this year. Among the titles that the Philippines are vying to win is the Miss World crown.
The first and the last time the country has brought home the crown was way back in 2013. It was after beauty queen and actress Megan Young managed to win the title through her remarkable answer during the “Question and Answer” portion of the competition.
Recently, in an interview with PUSH, Megan Young admitted that being a title holder has greatly affected her lifestyle. According to her, she became more conscious of her body and she learned to value the importance of being physically fit.
She was quoted saying,
“I’m a true believer of taking care of yourself habang bata ka pa, hindi yung when you reach a certain age. I wish, I should do this, I should do that. Ako ngayon palang sinisimulan ko na.”
She revealed that spending time in the gym is one a part of her weekly routine.
“I love working out. It’s something that I’ve learned to loved, I do a lot of weight trainings so hindi alam ng mga tao na lagi akong nasa gym, sa mga bakal gym. Yan ang gusto kong gawin kapag walang taping. At least five times a week ang workout,” she shared.
Moreover, when asked whether she will be the host of the forthcoming Mister World pageant that will be held in the country this September 16, the beauty queen said:
“I don’t know yet. Actually nalaman ko lang din two days ago through a friend pa, but I’m really excited that Mister World is going to be held here.”
It was last year when Arnold Vegafria, franchise holder of the Mister World Philippines, announced that the Philippines was chosen to be the host country for this year’s Mister World competition.
Moreover, on the question, whether she thinks the Philippines is ready to host the Miss World pageant next year, Megan said:
“I think we’re ready to host Miss World here in the Philippines. But I think it’s a matter of timing. There’s a lot going on right now. Maybe not now, not this year. Because I know that there’s a country hosting it na, but I think there’s a right place and a right time for things.”
“We’ll see! We’ll see! Like may mga investors ba na mag dadala dito. Siyempre hindi naman pwede na government yun, because the government also has other expenses with other things. But we’ll see kung may mga investor na magsasama that will be great,” she added.
