With the hype for the upcoming Star Cinema film adaptation of “Darna,” many fans are dying to know who will take on the role of the superheroine’s iconic villain, Valentina. Perhaps we’ve already found the perfect antagonist in Anne Curtis?
The “It’s Showtime” host acknowledged the rumors of her possibly taking on the antagonist role in the upcoming reboot of the popular superhero franchise.
“Of course, siyempre naman iconic yun. More than anything, I’d be more interested siguro in playing a villainess of kahit sinong Mars Ravelo character. I have fun kasi in playing mga kontrabida dito so I’d totally be open to doing it.”
When asked if she was willing to take on the role of Valentina, Anne Curtis answered, “if given the opportunity, I would love to.”
She did, however, clarify that she has not yet been offered the role of Valentina. Still, she admits that she’s looking forward to it if she ever does get it.
Anne Curtis has no shortage of experience playing a role written by the legendary Mars Ravelo. After all, she was the protagonist of the eponymous “Dyesebel.”
Anne also talked about the possibility of portraying other “Darna” villain roles.
“Meron pa nga sa Darna ‘yung mga girls na galing sa ibang planeta. Marami pang characters na puwede gawin, and I would love to portray one of them.”
We all know that the role of Darna has already gone to the beautiful Liza Soberano, who director Erik Matti personally handpicked. Now, all that’s left is for the esteemed director to cast his antagonist.
Erik Matti has worked with Anne Curtis in the past, most notably in “BuyBust” which is set to have an international release in the coming year.
