A lot of us would give anything just to come across a working time machine — something that could bring us back to the past — to talk to a loved one long gone one more time, or to try and right a life-changing mistake we made in the past.
Still, technology hasn’t gone as far as to develop something of the sort. It doesn’t mean, however, that we could never encounter a blast from the past in the form of a time capsule in this lifetime. Just take for instance what these renovators found while rebuilding a home in Phoenix, Arizona.
“Wow, I just think I’m going to value things a little bit differently,” said contractor John Murray upon finding the discovery of a lifetime.
See, the renovators found a “time capsule” that has remained hidden since 1966. It contained pieces of history that a loving woman named Betty Klug hoped to preserve for her husband when she was but 33 years old. The photographs and letters were indeed preserved well.
From the letters that were still mostly intelligible, the builders found out that Betty hid the memories in the hope of showing it to her husband Bruce in the future. Tragically, though, Betty was never given the opportunity to reveal the contents to the love of her life, as she died a decade after hiding the “time capsule.”
The time capsule seemed so precious and love-filled that it’s shameful how it never got revealed to the man it was rightfully dedicated to. There was only one course of action for the men who found it — to find Bruce and hand him his very own time capsule.
Against all odds, they found 80-year-old Bruce enjoying retirement in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Bruce’s eyes watered and his hands trembled as he finally received the letters and photographs, more than forty years after her beloved Betty had passed. He now held in his hands love stamps from a time long gone, and it reminded him of just how much love he and Betty shared.
“I don’t know how I did it,” Bruce said, remembering losing the one he loved.
Hopefully, Betty was able to make him feel her love even after all these years, and may her sweet time capsule brought him solace that he, too, was the love of her life.
